Thread: Another Mandolin Pick Story

    Default Another Mandolin Pick Story

Sorry for starting a new thread on picks but I couldn't decide where else to put this.
In my short time as a mandolin player I have tried several picks other than the Blue chip or the golden gate.

The other day I was at my local music store (again, according to some in my household)
and picked up a couple of Jim Dunlop Jazz I picks. These are small, about 1.5mm picks but they are rounded as opposed to pointed I really like that the rounded edges roll off the strings nicely and makes it easier to play tremolo. The pick doesn't get tangled in the strings.

I was having some trouble holding that small pick though. Had some 1/2" cork circles that we use on nicknacks to keep them from scratching the surface. Stuck half of one circle on the pick on the thumb side. Works well helping me to keep a hold of it.
