It has a warm tone, but a little more bright than my Morgan Monroe mahogany A-style (lighter top than that one), and the action is really low and quick. Still need to put the new strings on... then...

Thanks--I think the right kind of benign neglect was at work. The mandolin's strings seem older than the new owner, and there is little to no fret wear. I'm looking forward to putting some light...

I purchased this mandolin recently on eBay, as a "vintage mahogany mandolin." Does anyone have any idea where it might have come from? no label inside--the seller acquired it at an estate sale.
