  1. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

I don't think many people liked the name anyway.
  2. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

I actually had an Eastman 305. Very nice mandolin. As I think back maybe the neck was a little thin for me. I just never seemed to reach for it.
  3. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

They use some pretty nice wood on them too imo!

There are A and F Style Jam Masters.

This pretty much sums it up!

HELLO Hello hello, is there anybody (out) there.

Correction, I acquired my JMA in March 2019, not last fall.
  11. Re: I am considering a Lafferty LF-5B....

Dennis was kind enough to inform me that the B in the model number stands for Base Model.

    Thank you Dennis.
  12. Re: I am considering a Lafferty LF-5B....

Hmm, it is a brown finish. Maybe that's it.
  13. I am considering a Lafferty LF-5B....

    Hi guys and gals,
I am considering a Lafferty LF-5B for a second mando and to cure a little F Style MAS.

Can someone tell what the "B" in the model number stands for. I know it's not the Deluxe...
  14. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

I hope you get one so I won't feel so alone.
  15. Re: people who have Gibson jam master mandolins.

I purchased a 2009 Jam Master A several months ago now, probably last fall and I really like. I was stepping up from a The Loar LM-520 VS and as soon as I had it in my hands I new, imo at least, it...
  16. Re: Tabs for the intro to Amie by Pure Prairie League

I have most of the lead figured out too. Tabbing these out can be a chore. Especially getting to timing close.
  17. Re: Fancy bluegrass solo or tune with accessible tab

A fellow member in the newbie section turned me on to Sam Bush's version of Red Wing. The tab was either here or mandozine. It is a lot of fun and and quite a challenge for me.

    Re: NMD #774 Ratliff R-5 (1999)

Congrats on an awesome mando! !
  19. Re: Looking for intro to pure prairie league's amie

Try this. You will have to work out the timing but it's pretty close.

    Hope this helps!

Re: NMD - 2009 Gibson Jam Master A

Thanks, I can't wait to get with a group to see how it sets in the mix. To me it rings like a bell and sustains well. I think it has old monel Gibson strings on it now so that may attribute to the...

Re: New member / New mandolin

Congrats. I am a converted so so guitar player myself, hence my forum name. I played the stew out of my first mandolin, a used LM-520 VS I bought here in the classifieds. I just upgraded myself and...

    NMD - 2009 Gibson Jam Master A

Did a purge and bought a Gibson Jam Master A locally from another Café Member today. I really liked my The Loar LM-520 VS and almost went for the Blem deal on the 700's but ive been a Gibson (mostly...
  24. Re: Looking for intro to pure prairie league's amie

I am actually working on picking that one out right now. I don't have it tabbed out yet though. The intro is real close but getting out if the lead break is being a challenge for sure. I will be glad...

I have been following this post, Thanks OP! Since my first desire (a few months ago) to try out a mondolin, I have been Jones'n for a Kentucky KM252. Reviews and the finish pushed me in that...
