Thanks for the feedback Ben! Up until now, only I have done the mixing. Since I'm mostly a vocalist I guess I may make the voice a bit too loud. Actually I too have had thoughts of making it quieter....

Thanks for the feedback Ben! Up until now, only I have done the mixing. Since I'm mostly a vocalist I guess I may make the voice a bit too loud. Actually I too have had thoughts of making it quieter....
Thank you for the nice comments! The Mann is connected right into the computer, and then amplified using Guitar Rig 4 (the electric guitar and bass guitar is recorded with real amps though).
...
It sounds great! Is it recorded in one take, with your Ryder, or is it layered? The string separation is really great and I love the sound of the attack. Nice trebles and drones :) Wants me to get a...
Well, we really play Swedish punk music, with some non-traditional elements. I play my 5-string Mann Baritone mandolin sort of as a lead guitar in this band. Live I also use it to trigger synth...
Yes, I had Mr. Mann build a momentary killswitch into my baritone manndolin. It makes some clicks when using it though, but works if you want kind of lofi stuttering, or when using distortion (which...
Thanks dude! I guess all of us here can say that a double-stop tremolo on the mandolin sounds great, whatever the occasion though? :mandosmiley:
I've hade my Mann Solid Body 5-string Baritone for about a year now, and I love it! I play all kinds of stuff on it, most of the stuff I can do on regular scale mandolin is possible on this one too....
Do all emandos get a score of 4½? :)
There are two luthiers in Sweden (Ådin & Ekvall) who builds mandolin-instruments like that (not emandos though). Here's a picture of Ale Möller playing one of those instruments:...
Yesterday the solid body EM-5 Octave/Baritone Manndolin, which I'd ordered, finally arrived! I guess there will be a lot of deep voice mandoplaying going on at my place :)
I'm hoping to be posting...
Isn't there a humbucker on the Mann? I thought so
Yeah, I'm playing with a guitar player. He plays a Fender Stratocaster. I'm actually more into single coils, I like the twang they make...
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Even though the difference between electric guitars and electric mandolins may not be huge - surely there must still be a difference. I mean, some companies are...
Well, in that case I guess it would be better talking to an eguitar-builder, rather than one who builds mostly acoustic instruments?
Ofcourse I would also myself feel safer if I knew...
I own a DigiTech Whammy-pedal, wich I use for my emando. I've been experimenting with the two octaves down setting, with the same purpose as you: to play bass on the mandolin.
First I tuned the...
Yes, I've visited his homepage and I think I've played one of his acoustic octave mandolins (it sounded nice). I don't like the look of the electric he's building, and I think I'd rather go with...
Hey all! I would very much appreciate some tips about emandos, since I'm thinking about upgrading to a better instrument.
I'm currently playing a Fender FM-988...
Yeah, I've read about the Tekno thing on emando.com earlier. I just didn't remember the name of the "band" http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
And yes, I use my emando...
I'm sorry? I don't understand a thing http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
I actually got one of these mandolins, the eight string variant. The color is sonic blue. I have however removed four of the strings, running it as a four string since that sounds better when playing...
taboot: Thanks for the tip! The last two music shops I went to didn't have this particular Octave-pedal. In fact, they only had Octave-pedals for basses. I live in Sweden, and we don't have "Guitar...
I'm a member in a punk band. My main task is the one as a singer, but I also play the an emando, we only have one guitar, so when there's soloing/melodies to be done, I play 'em.
I was thinking of...

I found a mandolin like this in a store earlier this day. It's not very common with mandolins here in Sweden, so when I found an F-style, I thought...
Hmm, excuse me, but what is an MK?
Yeah, I'm thinking of buying a new (or used) instrument, since I'm not quite satisfied with the mando I play right now. I have an oval-holed, flat-topped A-style, wich isn't very easy to play, don't...
I'm trying not to put to mush tension on the strings with my fingers. Here in Sweden as I said we don't have much mandolins, and the fact is I've only played about two different mandolins in my whole...
