Charles, Explorer, Bertram -
Thanks for the replies, especially my confidence booster Bertram.
No worries on what we call it, although Charles I understand your peeve. To their credit, Royall...
The tenor is the first guitar I was introduced to, because of a friend, but I bought and learned a bit on six string guitars as follow up. They never really took hold of me, and I am selling them...
Thank you for the response, Explorer. For some reason the tenor really hit home with me vs. the six string.
I've never tried a metal body guitar, but who knows?
Have you ever played in...
Thank you everybody, especially Bertram Henze, for the inputs on a tenor resonator guitar.
I bought the same model that Bertram plays in his videos, the Royall '29 Triolian resonator (mahogany...
Thank you, fox. I would be playing in Chicago tuning (DGBE), due to the type of music I play. But your answer still helps. Basically I'm getting the impression that it shouldn't be too...
I was asking about this tenor resonator guitar (https://royallguitars.com/product/royall-29-triolian-style-mahogany-tobacco-burst-single-cone-tenor-resonator/) in the general mandolin forum before...

I keep reading about the advantages of 5ths tunings vs 4ths, but could someone elaborate - not on the technical aspects, but on the ease of play, beauty, etc.? It seems that fiddle and Celtic type...
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll ask them, as well as why they chose the wide neck
Rob, do you find your tenor resonator to be a versatile instrument? I am hoping to make this my main guitar.
Thank you, Rob, for the fast reply, much appreciated! Unfortunately that National is out of my price range. The Royall is about my limit.
Hello, this is my first post although I have been reading here on and off since I started playing a tenor guitar about a year and a half ago.
I enjoyed the tenor so much that I bought a wood...
