Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll restring it and pay close attention. Do those bushings get out-of-round over time? I thought that could be another thing to look at.

Subject says it all. I've got a pristine A1 with all original pieces except the tail strap button. At least one of the tuners has play in it, and while turning it, it will spin free for a small bit....
