    Re: Did someone say PICKS?

If that was a pile of blue chips, you could really impress me:disbelief:

What would the shipping be if that was the pick sampler? And how long would each member take to sample!?

    Re: Insomniacs? Asians?

As a gigging musician, I frequently get home late and can't just fall asleep. I try not to post late, as my "cafe correctness filter" doesn't work well when inhibitions are lowered:mandosmiley:

    Re: Dots or no dots

Even when I was at my heaviest, I've never seen the fret board while playing my mandolin. Side dots get used every session.

Re: New to me Mandolin day!

Holy friction burns batman! That looks well worked, is that play wear or builder distressed? Congrats on the upgrade, that ax has mojo! Enjoy

Do you have any info about the builder, they don't...

Yuck...but it's snowing a lot in Montana...note ideal either
  9. Re: Decision Time for wood type - Is the difference big?

My Weber is POCedar, it is rich and bell like, not woody, not a woofy chop.
  10. Re: Decision Time for wood type - Is the difference big?

I have a cedar top and an adi topped, one with red maple one with big leaf maple(I think)...they are different. That being said, they are from two different master builders, so what is causing the...

    Re: Sounds descriptions

I grow and sell organic veggies...try describing nuanced carrot or heirloom tomato flavors! It's very subjective.

For mandolins I've always thought of Tone in terms of fat or thin, smooth or...

    Re: Tonegards

Clamp on fiddle shoulder rests are for comfort. The fiddle digs into my collar bone without one. There was a fad in the 80's of shaped plastic back shells, kinda like a toneguard, to project the...

    Re: Tonegards

I have two nice mandolins, both have toneguards. The 12 year old Weber has had one since it was six months old. No dents or marring. I suppose denting could happen from rough handling.
  18. Re: Soundboard transducer and internal cable noise

The twist is how Bruce Weber dealt with excess cable on my pickup installation.

Re: Did my eyes just get older? Font size...

I know how to zoom...doing that constantly is lame...
Changing font size in settings on my iPad has no affect on the display of the cafe.

Did my eyes just get older? Font size

Did the iPad iOS forum interface just decrease text size? Is there a way to make the cafe site display larger text? It is tough for me to read the small text and touching the micro zone for opening...
