Yes. Mr. Mann is still building!
Is Jonathan Mann still building? His web page is accessible but in attempting contact I get no response. Thanks for any info.
Thank you for the post...sweet stuff indeed. I have been privileged to attend two workshops over the years with Dix, one he did solo, the other he brought along Tom Rozum (sp.). Both times were...
Thanks to all of you. This has been a great read!:)
Had a dog named "Merle" and a cat named "Bark."
Paul, Thanks for the post. That is one huge reverb generator in the background!;)
The Pavas that I have played rested comfortably in the hand and fell sweetly on the ear. I would like to get in line early just in case Pava decides to begin building two points. Until then, I will...
That is sweet! Now, if Pava can riff on the two point idea using the Kemnitzer/Bussmann C# outline/shape, I will know where my money will be headed. Facebook is a no-go for me, so I will have to...
I have the scalloped top.:)
Brad, Thank you.:) I am most curious about the neck profile and playability (not that I have contacted a case of MAS....yeah, right!). How would you describe it? My current GBOM has a 1 1/4"...
Great selection of tools;) Thanks for showing the innards. I have a new National and now I have a better sense of how the insides work.
Kilin, PM sent. I'm interested. Randolph
Picasso's Mandolin.
Perhaps an Ellis is a "rich man's Pava."
Well...considering the fact that it's Humboldt County, minor time warps are to be expected.
Rob, My condolences...and I didn't notice anything mean spirited in your initial response.
Mr. Journey Bear, "...in just a few seconds the past crashed into the present and wreaked havoc on the future." Well, there you have it: the lyrical beginnings of a song. Occasionally, when time...
Tim, Somehow this sounds good to me...grass roots/ground up sort of effort. I wish you success.:mandosmiley:
Testore,
As I am not a builder, I am hesitant in replying. That said, I would travel a fair distance to admire and sample, both by ear and by touch, hand made mandos by small scale luthiers....
I am curious about this as well. And, I say thank you to all that reply, builders and others.:)
Gregg, Bill Bussmann of Old Wave fame has built me two GBOM's, one maple, one walnut. Both are wonderful in their own way. Arch top, ff holes, 14" lower bout, 21 1/2" scale on both. I like the...
Gotta love the warm voice, and the big grins at every sweet note she hits on the mandolin. As an Old Wave fan I truly enjoyed this...mighty fine.:mandosmiley:
Yep!
This is just a simple note of thanks for the civilized nature of this thread. I'll admit that I have had to put fire to a few rusty brain cells in order to follow some of it, but that's not a bad...
journeybear, I have enjoyed your posts over the years, and when you hadn't posted in a while I was hoping for the best. Mainly, that you had fallen in love, that love was being returned, your...
