Re: I am on this board to learn!

Really? Those words aren't self-explanatory enough on their own. They are adjectives! Not nebulous names like "Ken"!

You know what, you're just proving what I was objecting to. Clique crap!

That is a great place to be except that your head might feel like it's fixin to 'splode from time to time. You're about 1.5 years behind me (journey wise, not ability wise) and it is still a fresh...

    Re: David Grisman's Dawg pick

What makes you take a stand such as this? Does a fiddler say such things about their bow? How about a metal guitarist? Do they say similar things about their pedals? How about a saxophonist? Do they...

I am on this board to learn!

If y'all wish to speak in half thoughts and codes and insider-collector shorthand, then I don't think I'm going to get much out of this place. And I really don't think many others will either. I'm...

Do you mean to articulate a difference between this "Ken" guy and other builders. Are you implying something that would be made more clear by just telling us the back story? Or is everyone on this...

Re: Separation of Singing and Playing

Yes. This is a big thing. I simply won't do more than a single tune without a binder in front of me. That way when the fog suddenly rolls in, I turn my eyes to the binder and bingo! Fog dissipated....

As a long time lover and user of StrapLocks I have to say that I recently saw an advertisement for a new locking strap design by D'Addario that I thought ingenious and worth investigating. Sorry I...

I can't speak to the black Wegens, but the tonal differences between the white Wegens and the Primetones is quite significant to me. I'm surprised you don't mention it. I just recently switched away...

Re: D'Addario Strings - Ask Us Anything

I just received a set of NB1252BTs . That was really weird because I ordered a set of NB1152s, but they shipped me NB1252BTs. This is significant because I always would switch out my high "E" .11 for...
  20. Re: Anybody use alternate tunings on their mandolin?

Yeah it is crazy that no one just states "this song in Sawmill" or these songs in Sawmill tuning.

I play one song so far in Sawmill, but I would like to learn more, I just can't seem to find...
