Yes, the version sung by Mac Powell and Steven Curtis Chapman.
Thanks for the help.
Need to play this in a week. Having trouble hearing the mando parts in the recording.
Has anyone worked it out, or, know of a tab on the web?
Thanks.
Still not sure where to look for what number of enlistment I am. Where in the profile?
Thanks.
I have an KM-700, serial no. 17327. It is early a 90's F style, made in Japan.
The wood grain is visible on the front of the headstock. I am told that this feature was unique to the Japanese made...
Come on, does this really work? If it does, why wouldn't all acoustic instrument makers do something like it (vibrators, hanging intruments between speakers, etc)?
Skeptical in Houston......
When I need to amplify, I stick on a Dean Markley pickup.
Sounds pretty good.
Bought it at Guitar Center.......they let me try it out on my mando before I bought it.
Try and find a early 90's Japanese built Kentucky KM-675, 700, or 750. Have seen some on the classifieds.
Was in the same dilemna 2 years ago and found a Japanese era KM-700 that I am very happy...
I was out of the country for a few weeks.....came back and started to play my early 90's KM-750 (Japan). My right hand seemed to be in a different position, closer to the face of the mandolin....
Try a Dean Markley pickup..........
Scott, thanks for your diligence. I bought my last mando thru the classifieds and am glad that the integrity of the ads will be maintained.
Any good websites to pick up tabs for traditional Christmas music?
Appreciate the help.
I run the Dean Markley straight into the PA. Sounds fairly good....
I use a Dean Markley Artist Model stick on pickup on my Japanese era Kentucky KM-750. Very pleased with the sound. And only $50 at Guitar Center. Take your mando in and give it a try.
Gordon, I called Fullers Vintage Guitar in Houston today, a couple of weeks ago you spoke with them by phone.
They said that they were not Eastman dealers. Is that the final word, or, will you be...
Gordon, when should I mosy on down to Fullers to try an Eastman F style?
Look for a Japanese made (early 90's) Kentucky KM-650, 700, or 750. Good sound, playability, and construction/finish.
Had the same question a few months ago. Went to Guitar Center and tried a Dean Markley stick on pickup. Sounds pretty good, I bought it and am happy with it.
Be sure to take it off when playing...
Gordon, the best store I have found in Houston for mandos is Fuller's Vintage Guitar. They carry the Gibson line among others. Whenever I have gone in, mandos are being played, not just hanging on...
Gordon, any Eastman dealers in Houston? Or plans to have a dealer?
Be careful......I use a stick on Dean Markely and like the tone. Someone else on the board liked their Dean Markely and had it internally mounted.....and hated the sound.
I think the issue is that...
I have a early 90's Kentucky KM-700. The new 700's (made in China) are all solid wood. What about the Japanese 700's?
I bought a Japanese era Kentucky KM-700 for $750. Happy with it.
Danny, you went thru a delay pedal? I tried that with my pedal and found the sound to be non-acoustic. Have your tried both ways?
Katmando3........did epoxy rather than putty make a difference? Acoustic vibration properties of the 2 materials are pretty different.
I used all of the putty........don't know if using less makes a difference.
Wrapped in Saran wrap, I think it lasts indefinitely.
I have left mine on for weeks at a time with no adverse...
