i did get a cumberland bridge and half of it was brown colored and very pourous looking ebony... nothing like the one on the mando now (it is cracking)

i have used both the shure ksm 32 and the at-4033 a lot..both are nice mics..in the studio- two ksm 32s in x-y stereo can't be beat on mandolin.. but live with one mic..the at 4033 does something...
we play on one mic and stick a loud banjo player (not you fred) over on his own mic..heck,we don't want to listen to all that loud racket

i have recently discovered using 2 shure ksm 32s in x-y stereo on mandolin in the studio..(and a tube preamp) oh mama,, it's the best yet....warm, rich, clear and ambient...it sounds on tape just...
nothing has the punch and clarity of ghs a-270..i can't figure out how folks could use anything else (and yup. i have tried them all)
use the peterson auto strobe 490 in the studio...it can't be beat for accuracy...how ever,, you have to have a training program for many clients.. and color blind people hate it.. they say it looks...

i am having my repaiman refret and hopefully fill in the fingerboard wear spots on my monteleone...is superglue and ebony dust the best way after replanning the fingerboard? i know the fill in spots...
