    Wow, there are so many. You can't go wrong with Grisman from his Rounder album through Quintet '80. Andy Statman is a mad genius and his early work is phenomenal. I love Norman Blake's mandolin...

    Yep, I believe you need to free up that right hand...especially if you want to get warmer tones from picking over the sound hole and closer to the bridge.

    To me, John was able to create a sound that had deep roots but yet was "far out". John had that river in him so deep. And yes, pick up Morning Bugle also, whoa what an album.
