Here's mine, after the upgrades. A dandy little mandy.

    Re: Bucky Pizzarelli

Sorry to read of Bucky's passing, a true Jersey boy from Silk City. Saw him one time with his son John at a NYC club. Very approachable and gentle man. R.I.P.

Re: old Flatiron, old guy, some thoughts

I recently bought a 1984 Flatiron A5-1, Steve Carlson, all original with warranty card, case key. No corrosion anywhere, although there was some fret wear. I had Skip Kelley replace the frets with...

I like this case. I don't use a tonegard, but it would surely fit.

    Re: Fret Size Opinions

I've had a few mandolins refretted in EVO Gold FW 74, the larger size (one being a 2015 F-9, also). I love the play, feel, look and longevity. I hear no diff in tone between this and what was on the...

Yep, Tristan send out a note about that. Handy to also have a soft copy.

    Re: Bridge problem

Maybe hard to see, but here's the slight backwards tilt that Skip is talking about on a 2015 F-9 fitted with a Bruce Weber full-footed trad bridge. It's perfect, all the way around.

What a lovely book! Selection of tunes is generous, well-notated and documented with sources, historical info and where to go to hear played/performed. The transcriptions are easy to read and follow,...

    Thank you (x 10)!

Just with a brief review of this page, it's evident the work, thought and love that went into it. Will delve deeper later.

Not sure what the point is here. How much was it likely greater than $1,000.00?

Boy, do I miss that publication. I was a flagship subscriber. I think Ginny feted all such people with a set of strings, or something.

    Re: Gibson Post Mortem

Try before you buy...that was their credo and encouraged. The well-known ad for the 20's catalog had a slip one could fill out, send in and receive an F-5 to try. What a deal.

I had not seen that video or the new config with an extra storage box. Looks interesting. Too bad a top-down view wasn't provided to check out the headstock clearance situation.
