    Re: Eastman Vs. Morris

Thank you to everyone for the advice. If all goes well the A5 Morris in the classifieds will be mine!
  2. Re: Norman Blake & Saint Elmo Slim - T.A.G. Railroad Rag

The mandolin is a Lyon & Healy style B with stairstep or art-deco peghead, 13 3/4" scale, and a low 3 digit serial number.
The bridge has an ivory saddle inlaid into it, which appears to be factory...

    Re: Loars at Carter’s

There's a lot flying under the radar that's selling so fast it's dizzying, or doesn't even appear anywhere. Music Emporium sold $22K worth in two Ellis Mandolins in a couple of hours yesterday that...

    Re: Loars at Carter’s

These days there are so many mandolins that can compete with the old loars.

    Re: Need help valuing mandolin.

Whoops! I misread the intent here. The OP is looking for insurance value, not what he can sell it for.

It is a Walter K. Bauer cylinder back. Bauer wrote and edited some method books and was a...

Re: Is this how it starts?

You ain't seen nothing until you've operated a repair shop for a few years.
One item I wrote on one of my repair invoices some years ago read [verbatim]: "Clean off icky goo [I don't want to know]"
  9. Re: URGENT: Found stolen Pegasus case - Goshen, IN

Possibly the OP has been advised it would be best not to say anything more if there is something going on. Hopefully it gets resolved and we can find out what happened.

Re: Screamin' CL deal on a (very worn) F2

Yes, Sue bought my F-2. The price reflected what I paid for it, and the numerous repairs I made, mainly the refret. "Luthier' can indeed mean many things these days, which is why I listed a link to...
