I voted yes as well. I teach my students to read music and tab, and it's extremely beneficial to know both.

    Re: Pick Blasphemy

What really sold me on BC's was how they play and sound on a guitar. They are truly remarkable on guitar. Mandolin... they are great. I really like it, but it's not necessarily the greatest thing...

Re: I'm here to induce MAS

I should be selling a guitar amp shortly and that will free up some cash. I'm...

  14. Re: Thinking about my 2nd mandolin - something with more of a "vo

Hey Keith, I'm Keith. It's good to see other Keiths. I sometimes feel alone as a Keith.

Anyway, Keith, I would definitely go for either a Collings or a Weber Bitterroot with your budget, Keith....

    I'm here to induce MAS

I had the day off today, so I drove a couple hours to Janet Davis music in Bella Vista, Arkansas. I would like to think of myself as in the market for an A-Style mando (Not sure if I could actually...

Temperance Reel and Big Sciota are by far my two favorites.
  18. Re: What Pro-level mandos have you played and how would you rate

Best mandos I've ever played were:

    1. Nugget A5
    2. LaPlant F5
    3. (Bias here) Northfield F5
    4. Mike Snyder's Gibson F5
    5. 2007 Weber Fern

The difference in rating between the LaPlant,...
