    Mandolin Slides

    Im having real problems doing slides on the Mandolin.
    Its odd, I also play guitar and have no real issues .

    Any tips ? Im wondering if changing strings will help. Currently using D'Addario XT...

    Jeepers this is hard work.

    The Kentucky 252 turned up with the filthiest strings i've ever seen. Action was too high and the intonation was slightly flat.
    Shop i bought it from very apologetic...

    I managed to find a hard foam TKL a/f case for £35 from a shop in Manc. Considering the price of the Mandolin (£275) I think thats about right

    Yes They are. I bought a guitar stand off them In June and a few other bits. Took 2 weeks to be delivered but no additional duty or vat to be paid.

    I think things have changed. Even the Chinese built ones are excellent these days and they are so consistent. Every Yamaha I have bought has been spot on out of the box

    I have one of each of the new Red label mij Yamahas, fantastic Guitars and better than Martins 18 series imho.

    There is a good review online of the MD305 and the MD415 by the same guy...
