T.D., I’m sorry for your loss! That’s one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Those little furry kids are like our own!
  3. Re: “Never grow old” bluegrass instrumental

Nice job Jesse! I listened to that a couple of times. That's a good song to play instrumentally!

  5. Re: Using pine, other "non-spruce" woods...

This make me think of when I used to do maintenance work. I bought some treated 2x4's from the big hardware store. I bought a couple of the straightest boards that they had. Left them in my work van...
  6. Re: IMO - Why red spruce is the loudest top wood

It’s a play on the word torrified! Just a little humor! But, it is terrifying to banjos!

Guys, thanks for the kind words! The tune is Durang’s Hornpipe. If I had played it better, you would have been able to recognize it!

    New Kelley F5

Here’s some pictures of my latest F5. It’s made with a 100 year old red spruce top, highly figured north-eastern maple. Very even balance across the strings and even up the neck. Thanks for looking!...

  19. Re: What makes a "lefty" mandolin a lefty?

I made an A model left handed; the tone bars were reversed from the right hand version. Nut and saddle were also for left handed to be correct. Now if it was an F model, there’s a lot different.
