No, sometimes that would be me.
Not always, but sometimes.
As already mentioned it was a Canadian TV show--(I am Canadian)
I have watched this a few times.
He is often underrated by the general public - but most musicians know how talented he is.
I typically don't use a lot of effect with my Mandobird, but one of the reasons I like it is that I can use effects
I do like a bit of distortion at times.
Chorus can be nice, if it's subtle or...
I had shared this already on other sites--missed this one (Been away for a while I guess)
NAMM Oddities was ready sooner than any other edition since I started checking it out.
Nothing...
Looks cool
Looks fun
Been playing mandolin, bass & guitar--
I have a couple of riff ideas for bass & mandolin.
Just need to decide on some song structure--I may need to record some ideas & play along to them.
But...
I don't remember who said this to me, or if they got it somewhere else-but it's great advice for any musician;
"Play it like you mean it."
Welcome
I have looked at those links & others, and the Mandolin for Dummies Book is great too.
Some humour--but then I am not relying on music for my income--it's hobby--but I feel or everybody who has even part of their income (if any) relying on music.
I know some who fit that--they're...
Is there a reason it can't be both?
Lots of great info & tips here though.
If it sounds anything like it looks--wow...

I like a good clean sound and the ability to sculpt a tone as even different guitars will need adjustment of the amp--so a mandolin even moreso.
As to what it is...
While there are differences, learning a different instrument can help you with other instruments--you have to learn to come at things from different angles--and many of the skills are transferrable,...

I've got the same 4--although I rarely play keyboards as I don't have a piano or other keyboard at home, and over the years my focus was guitar.
As well I play bass (& a bit of guitar) at church and...
Well I was referring to appearance.
Well maybe not 2019
But check out the previous years--there will eb some mandolin stuff.
I play guitar, bass & mandolin.
I'm probably best at guitar, then bass & then mandolin-which is also the order of when I started playing each.
But difficulty?
They all have their difficulties.

This was up real soon after January's NAMM show & I did mention this on other forums (Yes there are others)
But I guess I missed it.
NAMM Oddities 2019
The good, the bad, the ugly & the fun,...
That's fine-your choice that way.
As a guitar player--I definitely hear the difference.
And I like it because I am not playing "Traditional" or "Typical" mandolin styles.
I just like the sound...
This makes me want to try this with my mandolin.
I have tried parts of it on guitar.
But a mandolin arrangement would be cool.
Quite unusual--but in some ways that makes it more attractive.
Cool--I am also a Mandobird owner--I have wanted to try mandolin for a few years before I finally got one.
No specific influence or anything--just liked the sound and wanted something new to try
