Re: NMD 1989 Flatiron Performer A

Congrats!!! When I met up with David Mold a while back to give his Silverangel a try, he had a Flatiron (think an A Jr) and I really liked how it sounded and have contemplated adding to my collection...

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

    184247

Not necessarily what's on my bench, more like what's running TO my bench! I'm spending the weekend running real "grown up" power out to my 12x20 shop. It's been running off an extension...

Re: How to approach practicing and improvement?

I try hard to spend some time with a metronome regularly, particularly if I'm working on a typically fast played tune. You'll be amazed at how that can help you grow, even just with practicing scales.

Re: What's your new fiddle tune?

Thanks Jim! I saw that one when you posted it on the Matt Flinner thread, ... it also popped up multiple times while searching for info on the tune.

Ever since someone posted a video of Matt Flinner playing Midnight on the Water, I've been loving the tune.

    Re: Wireless in-ear monitors

I can't speak to the cost, but play at my church regularly and the in-ear system they use is called Aviom, and works pretty well IMHO.

Re: Anybody planting trees? Share your stories!

Even when you bind them, they still get big. We planted one about 15 yrs ago that was probably 2-3' high in and in-ground stacked brick surround to tame the roots. It is now about 20' tall and all...

I've been playing through a Fire-Eye Red-Eye DI and have been pleased with the result. Unfortunately at my last Worship band rehearsal, it was giving off a staticky fuzz noise. The next day with some...

I think what the guy who mentioned it to me was saying was that since I'm doing a combination of picking and strumming, a compressor would help level everything out so there more volume for the...

    Re: Blue Chips

I'm in agreement with those that weave their Blue Chip in the strings on the neck. I own 2 BC's. One CT55 and 1 TAD 60. One I preferred for my SA and the other on my Jacobson. Even though I now...
