I believe the warren ellis uses a bass bridge.
Ukulele types often do.
Yes but unless doing individuals, all of these are too narrow and typically 10.5mm not 14mm
Other than adding two equally spaced nut slots, this can be the only expense. These small guitars can be found all over. I found a v2 mini like new yesterday for $60 in a metro area. Unfortunately...
Some tenors
Just want to report on my two conversions I did in the last few months. Both are squiers. One is a mini v2 and the other is a short scale squier. One the mini I drilled new bridge holes for 14mm...
Put on new strings last night. 11-26. Tuned c3gbd. I like the lower tuning of gdad but i like the chords of this tuning better. Considering g2g3b3d4.
Looking at gdgd, gdgb, cgbd, and dgbd. Only tunings i have completely ruled out is cgda and dgbe.
Thanks for replies. Will probably do some by self and some with others. Why gdae over gdad other than this is a mando forum?
I am comfortable playing short scale bass. Short being around 23inch. I have messed with 3/4 and full size 6 string guitar with little success. Large hands with short fat fingers. I am comfortable ...

I have made 3 22.75 to 23 inch scale bass guitars out of squier minis and a headless out of a rogue rr50. Eastwood warren ellis tenors use bass bridges. I recently put new strings on one of the...
I am a fan of GGbd on my bari and have recently tried cceg on my tenor. While not 4ths or 5ths it is easy cording or chord melody. I would really like a non squeak low tension CCEG on the kala...
Thanks. I have actually retuned to D3 F#3 A3 D4 after trying D2D3A3D4 which was interesting. I don't know why more don't use that tuning.
Thanks Pete. Actually, I have tuned this D2,D3,A3,D4. The D2 is a 45w, but I think a 47 would be better as it is a tad loose. Remember this is a 24" scale intstrument so a guitar low e works ok....
Something else ihave considered that somewhat limiting ddad but simple if i am going to drone any way. Or the drone d even an octave lower.
Thanks
Thank you Pete. That is helpful. From the Han Speek website I printed the adad chords. Only about 11 pages long. This 24 inch scale is great stretch for my hands with this tuning. I have large...
Thanks I have that. I was more interested in Keys and capos relationship. If a capo on one fret makes an Em key, what makes the e etc...
Just found a fretboad printer online so I can print a fret board.

I am used to a Dad diatonic scale.
I am looking for a Key chart for capos using adad. I am not very astute as you can tell or I would not be writing this. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks
