    Rather then refinishing the entire top, Max and Laurie could touch up the worn area and blend it in. Like I said, they are great to deal with and very talented instrument makers.

    Wow, very cool! Finding a tailpiece cover for a regular trap door is almost impossible, you might own the only known one of those. :grin:

    You will most likely have to buy a natural skin head, in an 8" or 10" diameter and learn how to mount it yourself. The banjo hangout site would be the best place to ask for advise... ...

    Very nice mandolin but it's not like you are trying to be one of the Voller brothers of the mandolin world. I assume that you include your stamp or mark in the instrument to make that clear?
