Title says it all. Hopefully some place that can do some minor fixes for whoever gets them.
Here's another guy playing the Karasik Loar. Great fun to get to play this a bit.

A lovely tune. Condolences.
Listening to the Telluride House Band. Always a great set.
Got to visit with Matt and Tony a bit. That was the best set of music of the whole festival for me.
Curious why more builders don't make Griffith inspired A5s. It's a design that produces superior tone, but hardly anyone makes them. Strange.
Chris Stanley A5s used many Griffith characteristics....
Out of stock there too. Must be hard to get enough clowns to barf.
Thanks, Jeff!
Bela Fleck's Bluegrass Heart coming up after Watchhouse. Here's the rest of the schedule.

Anyone going? Pagosa Springs, CO June 10-12. I'll be there with my Brentrup F5. Let's pick!
Thanks, Dave. Great interview and I found out in the interview John will be playing in NM so I will finally get to see him again. The Jaybirds have the perfect total band sound--just love to listen...
That shot was excruciatingly painful for me and it took a few days before my left ring finger settled down. It helped for a few months and then the triggering came back. I went on a turmeric regimen...
I bought the CD off of Ry's bandcamp page ( rycooder.bandcamp.com ) to get the booklet and got an immediate download. Listened to it today and it's spectacular.
Here's a Fretboard Journal...
Now that's classy, Billydog!
Just curious, is there any concern about wear on block inlays or is it as hard or harder than ebony?
My 2002 has the same profile as yours, pops. Easy player. I was a little nervous about the neck profile when I was deciding to buy it, but it works like a charm.
Congrats, Eric. I recently got a 2002 23V and posted about it here. They are something special. https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/threads/159178-In-Praise-of-Hans-Brentrup
We heard some great stories from Mark at Monroe Camp last year about his travels with Bill. The book should be great.
AKA the "random hippie sanding" episode.
Richard, I went in 2019 and in 2021. It's an extremely well-run and organized camp, full of friendly campers and instructors. There's always some amazing bonus presentations--last year it was Norman...
It is wonderful. It was released on CD as "Natasha's Waltz." Norman was a guest at Monroe Camp in 2021 and said the album was their response to the first Dawg Quintet album.
Marked down from $3 Million. :whistling:
Before the Planet Bluegrass Academy moved to RockyGrass, it was held at Telluride. The one year I went to Telluride (maybe 1996 or 1997?), Rick was there with Michael Hornick helping students build...
I use a Schertler external pickup/mic (the old one with no phantom power needed) into a Zoom A3. The Zoom has both 1/4" and XLR inputs (needed for the Schertler) and can provide phantom power. I can...
Yes, that's the one I have. Love the visual vibe of it as well as the tone.
Thanks for all the comments. I'm really enjoying this fine mandolin. This is my first mandolin with an Italian spruce top. I'd say Hans carved it right.
Thanks for the link to the Brentrup...
