Re: Help - Right hand wrist speed question

This Vivaldi one (RV425) is one where I had to spend a lot of time just doing what Simon describes.
It wasn't the speed but the transitioning between note values & patterns that took the drumming...

    Re: Pickup or microphone?

+1 on the AKG c1000s I've been using one for gigging for a while now. I use it in hyper-cardoid mode for mandolin and fiddle.
The band are two electric guitars, or plugged in acoustics, bass &...

    Re: New tenor

If they're going to the bother of making a tenor guitar, why don't they produce it with the fret markers in the right place?

    Re: Another ToneDexter Question

Yes I think you just load up the firmware for whichever version suits you to set up your soundmaps. However once you have those done it stores them seperately so you can just do a restart from the...

    Re: Another ToneDexter Question

from reading those both together it would seem the guitar sits in the middle of the GEN set with the M'cello etc below and viola above.
whereas the HGH version seems to have the guitar as the bottom...

Re: What should I use for recorded playback?

if you use a programme like OnSong to store your lyrics you can add audio files and trigger the playback from a foot pedal.
So you could record real backing tracks and have the WAV files play back...

Re: Learning to read music for Mandolin

A quick and dirty transfer that works for lots of people is to look at your fretboard and realise that the semi-tones go up to the 12th fret & repeat.
your octave is right there marked by 12 frets,...

Some plastics seem to deteriorate all of a sudden after several years of being just fine and become a bit sticky in the process.
I've noticed it in the softer textured plastics used for some...

    Re: Happened to you?

Our duo were in an Italian cafe with a single mic into a laney acoustic amp. when this couple moved nearer & sat down right by the stage.

Re: Doubling on Mandolin and Fiddle

I play both in the duo and band I play in, on some songs I'll do both, but it's a very easy swap as I don't need a strap to play,
so I just put down the one I'm on and pick up the other. If I'm...

    Re: Left hand position

It's not easy to diagnose without seeing you in action.
However, going by what I often see, my guess would be that you're holding it too much like a guitar, which means it's starting with the big...

Actually just reading again why don't you just use the Aux in on the AER? that's line level and it has a line level output to go to your desk.

Re: Accompanying a guitarists who tunes down

I'd go with the people saying to ignore the guitarists except to time the changes.
Listen for the root note at the launch off or resolution of the phrase & you've got the basic key.
    Then it's down...
