Now that is cool.
Does anyone know of a beginners jam session in Gainesville, Florida? thanks.
I am fortunate enough to be playing a 1993 Randy Wood F5. It's more mandolin than I can ever conquer.
Thanks, John.
Mike, thanks so much for posting this documentary. It is well done and I appreciate your work on the forum.

[QUOTE=Lynn Dudenbostel;613200]Thanks for setting the story straight Greg. For the record, the only instrument I've ever "donated" or "given away" was a guitar as a part of the raffle at MerleFest...
Nice
thanks Mike.
Welcome to our wild, wacky world. One suggestion, watch out for MAS now that you own an entry level mandolin. Good luck.
I got some thin strips of leather in a hobby shop and a booklet on how to weave them. Made my own strap and it works just fine, plus it was fun.
Welcome Max. These funny little instruments do present a challenge but since you've been playing guitar for awhile you are already rounding second base. Remember this stuff is meant to be fun,...
Grumbles, a picture would help the experts.
I think Scott said it very well.
There is a product called Gorilla Snot, really, that works.
Welcome and be prepared for some frustration, sore fingers, broken strings and A TON OF FUN. Best of luck.
I found the Scaggs and Rice album to be very accessible and many of the tunes are easy to learn. Good luck.
Thanks Mike, can you float me some cash?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. These are great fun.
Learning to pick out some simple fiddle tunes like Old Joe Clark might help. Learn some basic chord positions, G, D, C, A. Remember the answer to the question, How do you get to Carnegie Hall? ...
Hendrik, danke sehr.
Every time I'm gonna play it.
1.33 shell for my Randy Wood F 5. A slightly heaver one for guitar.
With Bill's unique style, if you learned his stuff you'd be durn good...........period. Good luck.
We all went through it...........
