  1. Re: Mandolin case comparison (for A-models)

Thanks for all the info! The quest for the ultimate mid priced case is real.

The Collings TKL puts at least some pressure on the bridge which is a deal breaker for me.

    I've heard that Superior...

Looks like a Dusty Strings Hammered Dulcimer. They're well regarded instruments made in Seattle. Looks like one of their simpler models (fancier dulcimers will have 3 or more bridges and/or...

    Re: Custom mandolin Info

Looks like the last one is a Trinity College. Octave mandolin or mandola. They're decent quality imports. The Fleur De Lis headstock would indicate that it's an earlier model, maybe made in Korea?...

The blond F4 sure looks like a Cricket Fiddle instrument built by TJ. They're very nice imo. More info here:

    Re: Pandemic based inflation

I don't know about the new market but the used market is definitely moving back towards 20-40% less than new. There's still stuff out there that priced like new or higher but it's generally not...

    Re: Cricket Fiddle mandolins?

Tom is a nice fellow and makes a good mandolin. I've played a few and I like what he's doing. Maybe we could summon Mandobart. He owns quite a few mando family instruments built by TJ.

Reverb has 3 American made Breedloves in your price range. Worth taking a look. Nothing wrong with the cheaper Crossover imports but the Bend Oregon Breedloves are a clear step up.
