I am in the hunt for a 2006 Bourgeois "Georgia" OM that I sold years ago. I was told that it was the only "Georgia" OM at the time. Let me know if anyone has seen an OM from this era. Thanks, Tim

Sorry, wrong category. I will repost.
The one I saw was on a 1923 MB3.
That's for a Gibson MB-3 Banjo Mandolin.

Hi Sam, Sorry for the delay. I don't usually follow these threads too much unless I have something constructive to add. lol..
Yes I am from Twin Falls. We have talked before. I have always wanted to...
Actually Bob was still carving tops in the last years. If you look under the tops with a mirror, they are all signed and dated in pencil by who carved the top. Either Steve or Bob. I have owned...
Mine was " Amanda Lynn" . No explanation needed. :)
I emailed the seller and tried to get him to call me but no response...imagine that. Hasn't this one been listed before ?
Has anyone had experience with shipping a mandolin to Italy ? I tried to send a mandolin today via USPS. They told me that musical instruments were among the many items prohibited to be imported...
Feel free to send me all of your mandolins today before its too late.
That mandolin looks to be around 1903 with long volute, hollow neck. There is no neck block in that mandolin or fon #.
I have a pair of Givens A6s from 1992. I can assure you that there is nothing "so-so" about either one of them and I have owned alot of high-end mandolins over the years. :)
Outstanding...
Looking for the lyrics to "Fireman" by Candlewyck.

I have been taste-testing mandolins for a long time and I can honestly say that the Elkhorn F5 that I currently own is definitely one of the best (if not the best) sounding mandolins that I have had...
Hi James,
Very nice work (and picking) !
I have a few questions.
What finish are you using ?
Do you have any available for sale at this time ?
What are the prices ?
Best, Tim
I just aquired a Martin bowlback style 6 with inlaid Handel tuners like on the early Gibsons. Has anyone here seen any other Martins with Handel tuner knobs ?
Exactly.
And I certainly didn't convey that the majority of people here don't respect his work because I believe that the vast majority do but it still amazes me when I see some of the belittling...
I have always felt that Orville Gibson never really got the respect that he deserves for his pioneering luthier work. I guess that is why I was so drawn to this piece in the first place. I admit that...
Your right Mark, that was speculative on my part. I think your quote above was very well said. Thanks for your post.
I totally agree with you Mark,as long as you don't attempt to take Orville out of the equation as some posts above suggest. There can be no ubiquity if it doesn't exist. No Orville Gibson = no Loars....
Point taken and understood. What you obviously fail to understand is the fact that the design of the post-Orville oval-holed F models came directly from Orville's workshop long before he sold the...
Bob,
# I would like to know more about this favorite F4 you have that Orville had no effect on. This could be a rare one of a kind. I have seen alot of F4s but I obviously haven't seen one like...
You really need to read the entire document to fully understand it. In a nutshell.... The neck, peghead and rim is stated to be carved of one piece of wood. It states that the back and top are...
I have a copy of the original 3-page document. Actually, carved tops and backs were absolutely part of his patent. Orville not only illustrates this in his drawings on page 3, it is very specifically...
