Re: In case or on stand?

I am fortunate enough to be able to play every day at differing times and have seen enough dings from extracting and placing into cases
to refrain from always having to case my instruments multiple...

    Re: Need mando advice

Your short list sounds like a good one.

Play as many mandolins as you can. Do road trips to get to them if necessary.

Choose the one that speaks to you personally and is most playable. Do basic...

    Re: Collings scooped fretboard extension

I cannot abide a fretboard of more than 19 frets. I'd scoop it or chop it off regardless of appearance. Just me.

Had a 24 fret "abreviated" fretboard scooped after the 19th fret for unobstructed...

Re: Different picks for different instruments

    Re: It's a habit, I can't help myself

There must be some kind of inflationary movement in the mandolin world in last couple years. Not too many "deals" to be had.
Although the variety and quality seems plentiful.

Re: What's The One That Got Away?

  17. Re: Sunday picking sessions at my house are keeping me alive...

Learning to play the mandolin has certainly helped me keep what little sanity I have left. It has been a positive influence in every way.

Aaron,I agree with your assessments. I can use the Peterson ok but prefer the Unitune.PS,My first Unitune would eat a battery in a few uses. Sweetwater sent me a new one to replace it. Works great.
