    Re: Mandolin Builders output?

  6. Re: Your thoughts on Ellis A4s and other modern, upper tier ovals

When I visited Tom's shop a couple years ago, I played a couple Pava ovals that were the real deal. There were no Ellis ovals there at the time. There's a Pava oval with a torrified top at TMS that...

    Re: Northfield Recurve Case

Just a heads up that the lid flops all the way over--no ribbons to hold the lid upright. My only complaint about the case and I no longer own one.

    Re: Strap recommendations?

The Longhollow Big Softy works great for an A5 but the wide soft part ends up in the middle of your back on an F5.

Re: Home Recording - best bang for buck

The Zoom LiveTrak L-8 (12 and 20 also) intrigues me. Can be used as a live mixer, an audio interface, and a stand alone multitrack recorder with overdubbing. The L-8 even runs on batteries and has...

    Re: I built 2 F5s and a custom 3 point

I got to play the one Jacob had with him last weekend along with his #2. They sound really great--lots of punch and power along with a good thunk of the wood in the tone too. Very nice build quality...
