Beautiful! Torrefied top?
That tailpiece looks a little light for a ten string mandolin. It looks like it uses ball end strings? I don't think that is repairable.
Allen makes a cast ten string tailpiece that may or not...

Jill, that is so sad to hear. I have enjoyed your tunes on that wonderful Girouard mandolin since the beginning. I hope the surgery and rehab goes well. I am in the same boat as you as far as...
Nice job, what is that metal thing attached to the neck block?

When are you bringing it over Tom? :whistling:

Yea, thats pretty lame. No pride in the workmanship.
Very nicley played Jill!,
Is the next tune going to be " Worth two in the hand"? ;)
And Richie Havens.
Oh, and yes the black Mandolin Cafe hats are the best ever!
Hey Mike, I take it that this is not you playing tonight in St Augustine Beach FL?
If it is sounding muddy in CGDA you might want to tighten the head a bit. A 17 fret will only sound muddier tuned to OM tuning.
That looks nice. I looked at that and thought "where in the heck do you a ten string mandolin tailpiece?" A quick search came up with this...

I love...
Now that is nice, very nice. Would love to hear a sound clip.
I am in the same camp as you, I have my Girouard and one I built. Never named cars or instruments. My wife however names her cars and drones, go figure.
Perhaps when your girlfriend gets a mandolin...
