  1. Re: mandolin orange-Unknown Legend (Neil Young cover)....WOW

They are big fans of Neil. They have covered "Cowgirl In The Sand" for a long time, both as a duo and with the band.

Re: Whatís after a Kentucky KM-1050?

Definitely agree with getting the best instrument you can afford, not one you think you are "good enough" to merit buying. Playing a bunch in all price ranges will go a long way in determining that,...

Re: Whatís after a Kentucky KM-1050?

Agree with the suggestion to hop over to Gryphon and play a bunch. Only you know what tone you're after.

Also agree that an instrument from Will Kimble should be included in the running.

Re: To Cafe Members on the US West Coast

Supposed to be rain/thundershowers tonight, but I'm not seeing any on the radar maps.

Worse would be dry lightning, which could touch off more fires.

Re: more accurate clip on tuner than Snark?

This is why I switched to the Polytune. The Snark would say a string is dead on, but I could hear the difference with the other string.

Re: more accurate clip on tuner than Snark?

I went through this a few months ago. Got really tired of the inaccuracies of the Snarks and settled on a Unitune. They are nearly impossible to find in stock. Ended up getting a Polytune, which...

Re: Still cant play a break!

MandoLessons has a whole bunch of play-along jams to popular BG fiddle tunes, where Baron "trades off" with you playing chords and breaks. You can slow down the tempo using the icon in the bottom...

Re: To Cafe Members on the US West Coast

Yes, there are a lot of un-founded rumors about arsonists, virtually all of which have been declared bunk by local and federal authorities.

    Please, folks, get the facts.

    Man, does this year...

    Re: $1000 Budget

There are three Eastmans in the Classified right now. A 315, 415 and 515. I think the 515 is $1049, the others much less, all from good shops that are Cafe sponsors.

    Re: String winder

Picked up a couple of these from Durl Jones a few months ago. They fit perfectly and work much better than the old guitar wonders I had been using.

  20. Re: How to clean and polish Varnish on my New Pava Pro

I just tried Dave Harvey's Jubilee cleaner/polish on my Kimble and it works spectacularly. I did wait until the finish had fully cured (1 year) before using anything other than a damp cloth.

    Re: F style strap recommendation...

I have a Sully's on my F5S, and a Little Satchel on the Kimble. The latter one is a lighter braided strap of kangaroo. The Sully's strap is a little heavier, bridle leather.

    Both are awesome,...
