I just bought a used mandolin, and the strings seemed quite old. As I was changing the first string, the nut broke at the first/second slot.
Is this something I should attempt to change myself, or...

Hi all,...just bought my first mandolin! I finally decided at 54 to try to learn to play this instrument. I'm not sure where to start, but I'm sure I'll ease my way into it somehow. By the way,..nice...
