I prefer a clean acoustic sound with no effects. My many decades of playing electric guitar with Marshall/Mesa stacks has tired me of delays, compression and trickery.
Give me a mic and clean...
Wait.
You swapped off a mandolin, but kept a ukulele.....
I could use a few more...
I think the Primetones are a really good pick and a great first attempt by Dunlop to enter the "custom" pick market. They play and sound very close to a Bluechip IMO.
I'm surprised they haven't...
I don't think Elixir builds strings. The buy them from (X) and they coat them. If (X) is having supply or labor problems they probably will cut discounted sub-contract sales before cutting their own...
Wait....
:))
Most of us will experiment with different picks for our entire life.
At least, I know I do...
I don't know, but those are some great old videos. I ended up watching for quite a while.
Thanks.
What about 30% vinegar? I saw a youtube video that used it?
You guys are using regular 5%?
Me too!
Creeping me out just reading the words......

I don't know if your math is "perfect" but I absolutely agree with your premise. All a speed bevel does is make the pick thinner where it makes contact, making a thicker pick sound and feel "thinner".
I agree. I've never gone out of my way to preserve an instrument. I play the heck out of everything I own because it's MINE. It's not about the looks.
There are no rules.
Except in Bluegrass.......
Indeed.
Here's to getting our old World back.
I only saw 1 of those, one time, and recognized Clarence right off the bat. I don't know how the dates line up with the "Live In L.A." album with Scotty Stoneman, but there's not a lot of video...
I'm a guitarist for many, many decades and a mandolin hack for the last 10/12 years.
To me the Bluechip/Wegen sound is less tinny and clicky than a thinner, cheaper sounding plastic and this is...
Who would have guessed the "pick" business would become a growth industry?
It's a gig.
Most of us aren't allowed a gig.
10,000 hours.
Just like everything else.
Those were the days...
I've only got 1.
It's a very small collection.
I have 3 Hercules stands from back in the day when we had live music and working stages.
Lately they stay folded up and sad.
