    Thank you for that. I overlaid the tip onto your pic and it looks like it would work great. As I said the user can always round the edge slightly if in doubt.

    Stewmac have them but not yet in the catalog. LMI has them on the website. Both unfortunately only have the flat tip. You can also buy at my website.

    The violin option comes with a 1/4" ball which has seemed to work for most violin makers. that is a little bigger than 6mm.
    The standard version comes with 3/8" and 1/2" balls.
