Re: Ebay - American flag mandolin

The Red and white stripes are reversed. I wouldn't feel right dis-"playing" an incorrect flag.
  2. Re: Should I consider a very early B.R.W. (Ben Wilcox)?

No he is not. I got #27. Great mid tones and across strings. Maybe on the heavier side. I still play it. About 6 years ago when I sent it to him for frets, he made me an offer I should have jumped...

Re: F5 with an OVAL hole?

Re: F5 with an OVAL hole?

Me too. The short scale is what give the ovals their tone. Hybrids usually sound like a not so good F5 in my opinion.

    Re: Gibson F4...1924....1925...??

I would guess it has the Gibson straight across head stock. Not slanted if late twenties.

    Re: Recommendation for an electric?

Many electric mandolins dont have a break where the bridge is. No neck angle. This makes the feel a lot different and I wouldnt use it in a bluegrass genre or playing style.
