    Mike, if you remove the fretboard, you will see the neck joint. Early Flatirons had bolts in the neck. Pull the end pin and look in from there. If it has bolts, you will have to remove them first.

    I will stick with my red spruce that was cut down in the early 1900ís and the redwood that was cut in 1850. No problems using those woods.

    I worked in a “factory” where if something came back in with QA issues, it was said it was made on Friday when everybody wanted to get out of there or on Monday when they were hung over.
