Re: Mojo on beloved Daley mandolin

Wear it like itís a badge of honour. Many hours of playing that mandolin got you there. I like it!

Have you thought about putting a pick guard on it? It would protect the top and also hide the...

Re: In praise of mandolin builder Matt Ruhland

That must have been quite a treat sitting down with all of them. Did they sound similar to one another, or did they have different personalities? How were the necks? Beautiful looking fit and...

    Re: My New Blevins Mandolin

That’s a nice looking mandolin! The peg head is a nice departure from the standard F5 fare, and the colour theme is classy.

    Enjoy it in good health!

  6. Re: my goodness, that Ellis F in the classifieds, geewhizzzz!!

That 2 point is a nice looking mandolin. A little too bling’d out for my pocketbook, but beautiful to look at.
  7. Re: Cool mandolins at Schoenberg in Tiburon, Ca

That’s a nice selection of mandolins to try out and compare. The Kimble and Giacomel caught my eye!

    Re: My New Hinde Mandolin!

I love seeing different coloured instruments and this one has a lot of personality. Nick Dumas of Special Consensus plays a Hinde and it sounds great!

Enjoy your new mandolin in good health

If your heart is set on a Nugget, I would reach out to him and hear what he has to say. He probably has a good idea where his instruments are and who might be looking to sell thereís. As you are...
  11. Re: NimbleFingers, Michael Heiden, and a Kimble

Fatt-dad - yeah, I really like the Kimble oval. It’s been my only mandolin for the last 5 years and I’ve played it a lot ... hence the needed fret job. I think Will has only made a handful of oval...
  12. NimbleFingers, Michael Heiden, and a Kimble

I made an appointment with Michael Heiden to drop off my mandolin for a refret on Aug 19th and would pick it up a week later. From there, my youngest son and I did some road tripping around BC and...

I don’t know if that’s Patrick’s mandolin, but I’m pretty sure he has a Loar. He’s also an awesome banjo player as well!

Re: In Praise of Michael Heiden

    Beautiful looking mandolin!

One thing I notice is that it has a “Florida” fretboard extension rather than his usual design. I’m guessing it was a custom request and makes it pretty unique (for a...

    Re: Dilemma

I've played both and I'd pick the Clark hands down if I were in the market for another OM. My wife plays an A style mandolin made by Austin, so I might be a bit biased.
