I have a D'addario, which is great - but I also have the PRS clip-on tuner, which is rechargeable and that is awesome!
I agree, I use a Hercules GS303B, which is for mandolin and violin and easily folds, when you don't need it. A great stand and not expensive.
I have an Eastman MD315, which I can definitely recommend! A beautiful instrument, also available as A style, not glossy, beautiful sound and within your budget. And you can add a pickup later, if...
I play two jigs - Munster Bacon and Humours of Ennistymon. I love them both and they're also good left hand exercise :mandosmiley:
Those are two beautiful baroque lutes :)
I put a set on about two months ago and I absolutely love them. The sound difference is significant and the strings stayed in tune very quickly. I guess it just depends on the mandolin, but for my...
There is a mandolin in the Scorpions' "Born to touch your feelings", a great piece to add to your list...
The Eastman 315 is a great choice - I play it and I've loved it from day one. It is right in your price range and you get a lot of great mandolin for your money. Everytime I play in some workshop...
Are they loop ends?
Yes, me! me! me!:mandosmiley:
incredible - my favorite guitar piece on my favorite instrument!:mandosmiley:
My Eastman 315 lives in a Superior fiberglass case - fits like a glove and there is a compartment for strings, etc.

What about "Give me your hand" from O'Neill's?
Does anyone know, if a James tailpiece fits the MD 315? A tutor showed me - he has it on a Gibson - and I really like the hinged cover. Seems a lot easier on the fingers...
Hey, looks good! I come here every day and love all the mando stuff. Now it will be even more fun!
I wish I could do the workshop, too... have fun!:mandosmiley:
Great, I'll be looking out for this one!
Hey, thanks - very nice pieces and fun to play!:mandosmiley:
beautiful music - I can't wait for the book!:)
On my Eastman MD315 I started out with a Dunlop Nylon .88m, which was my longtime favorite. I tried a V-Pick Lite Large rounded, which I really did not like. Too much pick noise, no good tone, I was...
Well, asking a woman with long hair seems like good advice. But why don't you buy one from Lakota Leathers? I did and have a beautiful extremely soft and comfortable strap and it helps the makers,...
I will definitely be watching out for this one - here's hoping...
Hey,
seems like a nice plan :-)
In Nuremberg be sure to go to BTM-Guitars - a small but very fine shop with beautiful mandolins - they're the dealer for Eastman mandolins, too. Address: Fuerther...
