    Thanks for your reply. I've decided to use the bushings. Everything lines up good but I will have to remove a little wood. Next week its going to my local luthier (if you can call 3 hours away local)...

    Thanks for the reply. I think I'll install the bushings. I used the tool (reamer) once to replace friction tuners on a tenor banjo with geared ones. You are probably right, it went a long time...
