Re: Kimble neck - forearm pain

Years ago I sold my 84 Kentucky DAWG because of hand cramping. I kept my 85 Kentucky KM 650 because the neck was much larger and i didn’t experience the hand cramping with the 650.

    I was somewhat...
  5. Re: Norman Blake & Saint Elmo Slim - T.A.G. Railroad Rag

Nice appropriate backup on the guitar as well. Who is the maker of the guitar? Looks like a 12 fret 000 but the side depth looks like they could be a little deeper than a standard 000.

    Re: Kentucky KM 800 - Japan - (1985)

I own an 80’s Japanese made KM 650 which is a very good mandolin. I also owned an 84 KM Dawg that is a great mandolin.

These mandolins definitely punch above their weight and are great value.

  22. Bridge - Gap vs no gap at base of bridge on an F5 style mandolin?

What are your thoughts on the tonal impact on an F5 style mandolin of a full contact bridge base as compared to a traditional Loar style bridge base with a gap in the base?

    Thanks,

    Re: Weird sound?

Make sure the screws are tight on the tuners. I had a noise at the headstock and it was related to a loose holding the tuner one.
