How much cheaper with no finish?
If you live near an Ace hardware, a Menards, a Lowes, or a Home Depot - you can find ALL the colors of Scotchbrite from super fine to rough as a wad of wood shavings. Don't bother with the green....
That is NOT what the page says - it says "solid spruce top". That does not imply carved, and I've run into instruments before with the same words - and it meant laminate.

If you want to talk about meaningless terms - try enamel...
I'm late to the party here on this forum, but I can tell you that the internet's hair is on fire over that Agnesi vid and the Dean lawsuit. I haven't seen anyone defend Gibson's position with any...
I have loved Fripp's New Standard Tuning for a long time. Used to keep a Les Paul around with the proper string gauge and tuning just to experiment with. Also, as I remember - he had students playing...
Baggs has made good stuff since the 80's.
Probably.... But it could be a single high or low fret.
I owned one of the first GoldTone Mandocello's in the country, and the action at the nut was very high. It did not have a zero fret, it was equipped with a Zero Glide nut which are a very poor...

Already found a problem.... The cheapy tuners must go! But so far, it still plays nicely and sounds good. Always loved the sounds of the mando family. All I lack is a mandola and a mando bass......
Been doing guitar repair for 40 years.... I did my research....
Take one Eddie Finn 8 string ukulele (the neck is 1.75" wide), and yank nylon strings. Install a selection of Silk'nSteel strings and tune as a mandolin. Set action buttery smooth and low for ease of...
Lawyers doing their CYA thing.... But you know, some moron tried it - or there wouldn't be a warning.
Bookmarked!
Fret buzz, or poor fingering technique?
Having it setup by an experienced pro will make a lot of improvement, I'm sure. But if the neck is big - use your thumb, and arch your wrist like playing a guitar. Talk to your luthier about it...
Surprised to hear of a mandola at Ninth Circle of Hell Music.
It's a black page?
I was one of the first owners of Goldtone mandocellos - and I've commented A LOT on them in other threads here on the MC. Look them up and get my complete viewpoint. I am an experienced luthier with...
Exquisite. Now post a recording....
