    Re: Fret markers

I had a '53 Harmony 1215T with the 9th fret dot. (Boy did it bother me - once I noticed!) I've seen plenty of the same model with it on the 10th. I have several tenors, all with 10th. I think this...
  2. Re: I put new strings on and positioned the bridge myself

My mother was brought up to believe that corporal punishment was motivating. Not entirely untrue, but a lot of downside.

I do agree with you. It seems I don't put a lot of time into string...

  4. Re: I put new strings on and positioned the bridge myself

That was my thought too. Then I thought of something Randy Bachman said on his radio show. He never puts on a fresh string set because it ruins his tone. "What?!!" I thought."I wish someone had told...

    Re: Classifieds

So you all understand. I'm not complaining. Yes, I'd prefer pricing was shown on the listings page, but no matter. This was just something I was curious about.

Sometimes I shop (window shop at...

    Re: Classifieds

I don't want to open the ad if it's what I'm looking for. If I'm not looking for a guitar, I don't want to look at guitar ads. If I'm not looking for an instrument priced well beyond my budget, same....

    Re: Classifieds

Thanks Ed. I assumed this much. From the programming/software side, how difficult is it to add a price field?

As I said earlier - just wondering.

    Re: Classifieds

It's not that they aren't priced, it that you have to open the ad to see the price. Currently that 650 ads for mandolins. I know, the headline will state brand and maybe model....

    Re: Classifieds

Thanks Bill. What I meant to ask is Why do I have to open the ad?

When you select your category that page has columns for ad headline, photo (y/n) and date posted. Why not one for price? If your...

    Classifieds

Sorry if this explained already. I looked quickly and didn't see it.

Why on the Classified pages does it not show the price in the listings, as it does note yes/no has a pic?

    Just wondering.

    Re: Resonator Tenors...

Thanks Cornfield. I have a GT 25" scale. I thought it was a failed prototype having the wrong neck. Now I know they did offer the longer neck early on.

You should be able to answer you question by next week then.

Is it the set neck (Hofner style) or bolt on? I assume 'teardrop', not guitar shaped body..?

The tension was too much for an old repair. The luthier put on a lighter set as he didn't have the correct on hand. I haven't changed them yet, but will put together my...

Sorry, I have no advice to offer, but how long has it taken you to put that amount of love into it? If years, I see no need for concern at this point.

Re: D'Addario Strings - Ask Us Anything

I'd like to think they are using plain English, whatever they mean by "better" (I assume longer). That is, for every hour of the other brand, you get an additional hour and 18 minutes from XT's. 100%...
