    Re: Education

I like to think that all of them, even from the same brand or builder have a certain individual character. With some it is more or less noticeable. Nearly every Collings I have played was very...

    Re: Mandolin Orange Information

So, I spent the majority of the afternoon calling every record shop I could find in North Carolina. I also called about 10 of the major record shops around the country. No luck whatsoever.

Re: Big Frets on The Loars

You will meet people in both camps. Large frets are not necessarily traditional but alot of modern players prefer them. I've found that I can like mandolins with either. To me, radiused fretboards...

Re: Opinion on nickel vs. gold aesthetics

    Re: Stiver Mandolin Experience

I have had my Stiver since it was new in 2017. It has always been remarkable but it has really been opening up week after week. The mandolin has seen 50+ shows this year. My previous mandolins were a...

Re: Adjustment for Eastman Tuning Pegs

If I'm understanding what you're saying correctly, the issue is in the way the nut is cut. Most tuning issues with instruments is not the tuners, although that is what most people tend to think. A...
