    a Sax strapap has a hook, for the ring on the instrument

    Looks like back separation, to fix that the whole back would be removed, the surface prepared
    and then re glued and clamped all the way around.. while glue set..

    10-38 will reach pitch with less tension , that's just physics.. as a beginner I suggest they're easier to play.

    With a digital caliper to measure the actual string to the 3rd decimal point the difference is much clearer, IMO

    the difference between a medium 0.011" steel E string, and a heavy 0.115" string ...
