  1. Re: Octave C & G courses for mandola?

i always thought high string on top for zouk, but I guess I've always just assumed. Sarah Jarosz plays low-high octave pairs IIRC on her OM. I always wanted the chime of High-Low tuned octave pairs....

he'd also receive it via courier (he's probably exercising a lot of caution at the moment). Get hold of him on phil (@) davidsoninstruments.com
  4. Re: Repairer recommendation required

Phil Davidson, nr Cinderford in the Forest of Dean

  5. Re: Players/Recordings Using DAEA Tuning?

There's Knightley telling me no one he knows finger picks tenor much. That's my default mode. Naughty Knightley!
  6. Re: Where have all the Irish bouzouki / cittern players gone to?

Certainly three of those I mentioned have been advertising their skype lessons and offering advice to newbies. I approached Jim Fagan about lessons myself though I haven't gotten around to it.
    I...

    Re: Tenor tuning - EBF#C#?

Sure sounds like a cool experiment to try Low E. I would be choosy on which tenor i did it perhaps - might try on an electric. Main reason is I get a lot of joy in GDAE knowing I can just capo up to...
  11. Re: Recent Session King tenor guitar

22" - nice scale length. Lovely work Nigel, as always
  12. Re: Players/Recordings Using DAEA Tuning?

plenty ITM crew on here I'm sure :) they tend to know!
There is a forum section for that, so you might see more traffic there - doesn't matter if it's paired strings or not. Also there's the banjo...
  13. Re: Newbie to this board...but with a TG under construction

    Aw thanks Bob.

re guitars - like most of us, I'm making a virtual list in my head of what I'd have on a build... but I do love a semi with a bigsby and a could of nice p'ups, especially at the...
  14. Re: Newbie to this board...but with a TG under construction

Re: Martin 0-18T8 8 string tenor

yeah its funny how some need to refer to it as an eight string tenor... and i've actually had people firmly correct me when i point out it's a GBOM (Guitar Bodied Octave Mandolin in case you don't...

Re: Tenor guitar options in Europe

Does it matter if you're carrying a vintage instrument so much re: CITES?
I'm thinking about how Ivory can't be traded -but at a certain age it's deemed of historical interest, so the rules I think...

    Hope that helps. ...

  24. Re: Anyone Recognize This Octave Mando?

Yes, that's a buchanan. My first zouk was a Buchanan. I also sold one of his tenor guitars and maybe shouldn't have seeing as it was short scale. He sells instruments via Hobgoblin in the UK, so not...
