Re: Battery generator to run an amp

Thanks to all who offered suggestions and advice. Here's how I ultimately solved the problem:

I ran a lamp-cord wire (12 or 14 gauge) from a screw in the Rockpals 250w lithium ion generator to the...

Re: Battery generator to run an amp

The one I was looking at has two XLR/1/4-inch combo plugs, plus a third stereo 1/4-inch plug for keyboards (with no tone controls). We plug in the mando with an XLR, the guitar with a 1/4-inch and...

dhergert, I looked at the Roland Cube Street and wondered how it handled acoustic instruments, since it includes settings strictly for electric guitars. Your post reassures me this is a solution to...

Thanks, NDO. I'll check out the Gemini. A friend recommended the Bose S1, but it has only two channel inputs. We need three. A battery operated mixer? Hmm.

Fascinating. I just read over the posts. I may need my EE brother to help me on this, but certainly worth looking into. Thanks!

Battery generator to run an amp

My cello-playing wife and I play weddings, usually using a Bose L1 compact or a 30W UltraSound if only the classical guitar needs a boost. Sometimes, power is hard to come by in outdoor locations....

I miss the Bass Pro mandolin. What was it called, the bassolin? Maybe next year the Bass Pro banjo, the ultimate bottom feeder... Hat's off to the MC folks. Brilliant launch.

    Re: Saw Sierra Hull Show

I saw her at the Phoenix show as well. I love the energy of a full bluegrass band, but the sparse arrangement of mandolin and bass, with the occasional banjo or dobro, better fit out the...

Re: Seeking info on an old bowlback (previously Reinhard)

Thanks for your assistance. This is good info. I'm intrigued by the idea "Reinhart" could be the original owners name. I checked with my friend, and that is not a family name. Maybe her father bought...

    Re: Clip on mic?

Thanks, foldedpath. It's just my wife (on cello) and me, so band noise is under control. But we play outdoors a lot, using wind protectors on our stand-mounted mics. They help, just a little. .......

    Re: Clip on mic?

I just stumbled over this string. A question: What does that AT 35 clip on attach to? We sometimes play receptions in loud rooms, or outside in the wind -- will this pick up that noise?

There's an Americana band in my old hometown in Missouri that paired a banjo with a cello. It's not something you hear everyday, or would want to, but in the song it works. So these folks paired...
