Re: Why Do You Go To Bluegrass Festivals?

Go to camp and jam. Don't need to sit in the sun a hundred yards away to hear bands that I can hear in comfort at home. Would much rather buy a cd and listen.
  3. Re: Can't find the Mandoholics Anonymous thread...

    Ken,

Look into the Yellowstone Bluegrass Assc. Here in Billings. Lots of members from eastern Montana.

I have Don's Apitizer book which has three chord studies on 'I've got rhythm'. I learned a lot from them.

    Re: Retirement

It's better to have one instrument and the time to play it than many instruments and no time to play them. IMO

    Re: Ewan MacPherson

As I get older, I don't make it out as often as I should but it is important to promote live music.
  11. Re: Swing chords and progressions for mandolin by Don Stiernberg

The chord studies in the appetizer book are great. I learned a lot.

    Re: Norman Blake Interview

I agree if you are old enough to collect SS and Medicare you don,t need to be playing bar gigs. Let the next generation play them.
