I contacted Strings and Beyond with my question....the answer is A and E singles are not available in NY Steel, only the high carbon steel.
Hi, from what I gather, A and E singles are made of high carbon steel. Are singles available in NY steel?
Just wondering if there are any recommendations for experienced setup people in Victoria, BC? Thanks....
I own #30 from December, 2010 which I bought from Jamie after Tom Rozum traded it in on a newer one. It's a very nice mandolin, loud, clear, powerful, great note separation and tons of fun to play. ...
I just saw this in the newsletter from the Saskatoon Musician's Association:
Just this September, Air Canada announced that musicians
will now be able to check their instruments in the cabin as a...

I'm liking mine - it's a 2011, charcoal exterior, claret interior.100644
I'd say first is the Gibson, second is the Kentucky.

I guess I should chime in here as I'm fortunate enough to own Stanleys #8, #17 and #18. They're all great mandolins with a similar tone, heavy on the midrange and all are very loud. And like John...
My 2004 A9 has fretboard dots which I believe are original - I'm the second owner but I don't think any modifications were made before I bought it. According to the Gibson numbering system, mine was...
mnormand - I have the box plus a package insert that came with one of my Intelli IMT-500's. #Unfortunately there's zero contact info on either. #The only possible hint was "CE - Made in Korea"....
Looks great Bruce and I'm sure it sounds great as well. #I'd love to hear a review and see more pics.
I recently bought a used Mid-Mo M-0 from a cafe member but he couldn't find the tailpiece cover. #I kind of like having one on so I contacted Mike Dulak from Mid-Missouri (now Big Muddy) to see if he...
Steve - Mandolin in the Cow Camp is all instrument old-time but so are The Old Style Mandolin - volumes 1 and 2. #If you're looking for old-time mandolin, I'd recommend them all.
I've been listening to these discs since they arrived yesterday and agree wholeheartedly with Mando Johnny - this is great music played exactly as it should be. #Skip's tone is amazing. #What is that...
I've been fortunate enough to play several Sawchyn O-2's (F4's) and they all sounded great, including the one Butch Baldassari used on The Mandolin Tribute to Andrea Bocelli. #That one had a longer...
Hey Brad, great sounding and great looking A2. #Same goes for your S5 on the other thread. #I have a few Sawchyns myself - an S5, A2 custom and Beavertail deluxe. #Peter's a very talented luthier for...
I just got a T-shirt from Chris today as well - cool design and good quality too. I've had Stanley #8 for about 7 months now. Great mandolin and great tone right from the start but it just keeps...
I've got #8 and think it's great. I had the opportunity to choose either #7 or #8. Chris played them both for a few days and told me they sounded pretty much identical - so I chose #8 because I liked...
