Re: Need info on a Barcus-Berry pickup

Models that resemble this one are going for 300-500$ on reverb. Hence my 10$ offer.

Re: Need info on a Barcus-Berry pickup

I did 30 seconds of internet research on it. I'll give you 10 bucks if you ship it to me free.

Re: Gibson A5-L unsold for 15 years

Sorry, but it is not "new" anymore either. That's many years of shop play. I'm guessing it's had many string changes and I bet there is even a touch of fret wear.

  6. Re: Gibson threatening the mandolin and guitar luthier community

Like I said way back in post #39 - nobody's ripping open Gil's, Nuggets, Red Diamonds, Etc. to take measurements.

    Re: Adventures in Clip-On Mics

    Re: Adventures in Clip-On Mics

Thanks for the post. I too have purchased the Pro 35 and a DPA clip. I have been struggling with it and have been contemplating sending it back. Mostly because the DPA clip does not hold the mic very...
  9. Re: Gibson threatening the mandolin and guitar luthier community

Before anyone calls it out I know that a Tele would be a Fender. My point is they should do the same thing as Gibson.
  10. Re: Gibson threatening the mandolin and guitar luthier community

I really don't have an issue with them being pissed off. No one is taking Gils, Nuggets, or Kimble's apart and taking measurements. No one had a flower pot before them. No one is making a mandolin...

    Re: Ashokan Farewell Tabs anyone?

I would argue that posting the tabs on here for educational use is unlawful:

  13. Re: -If you could have any mandolin in the world….

I would like to have that reproduction of Bill's mandolin that was just recently made. Or the 20's fern that was for sale at TME a while ago, or Charlie D. signed MM or a Loar.
  14. Re: Moving past my F9...looking for recommendations.

Again with this statement by the OP "I'd love to get some recommendations for an f-hole, "bluegrassy" mandolin, with a somewhat more "modern" design than the F9." Go listen to Danny Roberts play the...

    Re: My July 2016 LaPlant

Yes Lloyd is awesome. This mandolin has opened up nicely is becoming a monster. It's doing a great job of holding MAS at bay.
  20. Re: Condenser mic for live and home recording

Part of the reason for asking this question is that when you watch folks (pros I guess)) post videos of playing and singing a lot of times there is just one mic and they are sitting, the mic is...
  21. Re: Condenser mic for live and home recording

I have the Presonus Audio Box USB and the M7 mic. I would like to upgrade to a better mic.
  22. Condenser mic for live and home recording

Is there a condenser mic under $500 that would work ok for playing a mandolin or guitar and vocals for home recording and also playing a small venue?

    Case question

If you had a $7000 dollar mandolin and gigged a bit, probably was never going to fly with the instrument and was not concerned about weight or a lot of storage what case would you have? My instrument...

    Help with a song intro

I worked up "Things have gone to pieces" the James King version and I cannot figure out how the mandolin player ends the intro. Right after the pull off and leading in to where the fiddle comes in. I...
