    The prelude to Bachs second cello suite is really mournful. Some think Bach wrote it after learning about his wife's death. I think it sounds especially haunting on mandolin.

    I'm also just getting into classical music on mando. Bach cello suite 1 has been my gateway drug. It's so so satisfying to play it at half tempo (or slower!) and work it up to speed click by click....

    Progress is a big motivator for me. As long as I'm improving, I want to keep at it. Especially when I learn to play a song that was previously impossible for me.
