I would say I am in between a 4-5.5. I have never played in a band or in front of anyone other than my immediate family. My brother plays guitar and nephew plays banjo. I have a ton of fun....but...

I am partial to the Kentucky Mandolins because that is what I own....good luck with you decision.

After playing that many gigs, your fingers just know what to do....I ran a marathon one time and after about mile 15, my legs just kept going even though I knew I was tired....great job playing that...

Do you have a tuner? Is that something you can do naturally? If not, a tuner is a must have....

I would agree, I own a Kentucky, I love it. I will never change, it was a Father's Day gift that my wife bought for me and it was/is the best gift I have ever received with the exception of my kids...
